Red Clay and KSA jazz it up:
The Red Clay Jazz Festival was held on May 17, 2008, outdoors at the Kauai Marriott. The Kauai Concert Association has generously invited KSA members to exhibit their work during the one-day event. Mahalo to Dede Gentry Day for coordinating the exhibition.
American Style
magazine, a national arts and crafts publication, featured an article in their June 2008 issue on four Kauai artists: A.Kimberlin Blackburn, M. Lea Ingram, Ray Nitta, and Annabel Spielman.
Deyana Mielke
recently received a design award for her copywriting and design of a print ad in Tradeshow Week, an international magazine. The ad was honored for Highest Attention Getting, Believability, Information Value, and Best Overall Scores by ReadexResearch, NY.
Martin Wessler
's painting SMILE was accepted to the 2008 International Salon for representational oil painters at the Greenhouse Gallery, San Antonio, TX. Chosen from about 1200 international entries, the show runs mid-April to mid-May. <www.Greenhousegallery.com>
Sally French
show opens June 28th (June 28th-July 27th) at the Schaefer Gallery, Maui Arts and Culture Center, Maui, titled: "Wunderlust: the Keepers' Tale," a showing of digital and mixed media work. Also exhibiting will be former Kauai artist, Chris Reiner, showing his large-scale obtainium kinetic sculptures.

Carol Ann Davis
honored by the Kauai Humane Society for her years of work in support of Kauai's animals and the Humane Society, at their annual dinner on Saturday, May 12, 2007 at the Kauai Marriott Resort.

The Contemporary Fiber Art of Hawai'i: Sept. 26, 2008 to Jan. 13, 2009 at The Contemporary Museum at First Hawaiian Center, Honolulu. Invitational exhibit with over twenty Hawaii artists including from Kauai, A.Kimberlin Blackburn, Sharon Britt, Karen Gally, Carol Yotsuda, and Patricia Yu.
The Pastel Artists of Hawaii Annual Exhibition: November, 2008
at Pauahi Tower, Honolulu. Includes Kauai artists Devi Town and Sarah Wharton Riggle who received Jurors Merit awards, and Helen Turner with two Honorable Mentions.

"Precious Resources: The Land & The Sea," Hawaii State Art Museum (HiSAM), Honolulu, October 6, 2006 to July 7, 2007. Kauai artists Robert Hamada, John Davison, and the late Paul Yardley were featured along with 48 other Hawaii artists in this exhibition of artworks inspired by Hawaii's natural environment and resources.
